Your Customers Need More, and Don’t Know It
The good news is that making the leap to sell dimensional signage doesn’t require new equipment, a bigger shop, or a steep
learning curve. What it requires is confidence and the right partner: confidence in your process, your materials, your ability to
lead the conversation, and the right vendor.
The key? Understanding client needs, knowing your materials, and presenting options with clarity and purpose. Let’s look at
how this plays out in a scenario in REVIVE.

A client walks into your shop looking for an interior sign. They want a sign that reflects their business with bright colors. Their
request sounds straightforward; they want something clean and bold colors—but what they really want is brand presence. You
could suggest a vinyl graphic and move on. Or you could recognize this as an opportunity to elevate the project, increase its
value, and position yourself as a trusted signage expert. Customizing dimensional signage allows you to do exactly that.
Understand Your Client’s Needs (Beyond the Ask)
The client asked for an interior sign—but what they want is an experience for their customers. Start by reframing the conversation
with a few intentional questions beyond the ask:
You: Where is your business located? Are you an independent building? In a mall?
Client: We’re an independent shop with direct outdoor access, so people can easily walk in. That visibility helps us connect
with the community.
You: When someone walks through the door, how do you want them to feel about your business right
away?
Client: I want customers to feel welcome and good about making a difference when they walk in. We sell upcycled clothing.
You: Would you describe your business as bolder and more modern, or clean and refined?
Client: I would describe our brand as bolder and more modern.
You: Do you want a sign built to last for years, or one that can evolve as your business grows?
Client: I opened my business two and a half years ago, primarily selling online, but this is our first brick and mortar store.
I’d like a sign to last a few years.
You: Can you share a few photos of the space you are looking to put on the new sign?
Client: All the photos I have are of the space under construction - is that okay?
