From Single Sign to Full-Scope Projects:
Start with 5 Questions
When quoting for signage for a world-class resort like
The Nile, it’s not just the luxurious amenities or serene
spa that make the experience unforgettable—it’s also
the seamless integration of every detail that elevates
the guest experience.
The Nile is a fictitious resort created to showcase a
breadth of signage solutions, ranging from exterior to
interior products. This resort concept illustrates how a
variety of signage products can be used in a hospitality
setting.
Big projects don’t usually walk in the door labeled
“BIG PROJECT.” Often, it starts with a simple request:
“We need a new sign.” But that small ask can be the
beginning of a much larger scope—if you know what
to ask.
01. What’s the goal of the sign?
Are they trying to brand their space? Improve
wayfinding? Commemorate something? Communicate
vital info? For The Nile, the goal was all of the above.
From illuminated exterior signage to ADA-compliant
wayfinding plaques and branded room markers, every
sign served a specific purpose—and contributed to a
seamless guest experience. Asking about the goal
helps reveal what else the client may need but hasn’t
considered.
“
Attracting and retaining clients with large-scale
projects (10 or more signs) requires the ability to
meet complex and multi-faceted signage needs.
You might have identified a project that’s 10, 20,
or 30 signs, and you might be thinking, “I can’t get
30 signs made by that deadline, what have I gotten
myself into?” That’s where a vendor can help step
in and help you tackle larger projects.
“
One of the often overlooked, but essential elements
in any architectural project is signage. When a client
comes to you with a single sign request, there may
be an opportunity to offer them more and establish
yourself as a premier partner to their business. Signage
is more than just directional markers; it’s an integral
part of the visual and functional layout of space.
